League recap: Prep Charter climbs in state rankings with win

Prep Charter moved up to 297 from 355 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Philadelphia Public - AA. Prep Charter was able to make the jump by beating Communications Tech 37-0.

Imhotep Charter extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating University City, 47-12. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Panthers.

Imhotep Charter's dynamic duo of Andre Dreuitt and Eerin Young proved tough for the Jaguars to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dreuitt threw for 76 yards and one touchdown and Young had 61 yards receiving. Khalil Steward helped Imhotep Charter's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.

Jovan Matthews was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 130 yards on 16 carries as Tony Beaty's team defeated University City. Teammate Asa Manley added to the ground attack by rushing for 39 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Dreuitt and Young the Panthers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Dreuitt leads the league in passing with 579 yards, while Young has rushed for 690 yards this season. Prep Charter's John Graham leads the league in receiving yards with 315 on 21 catches.

The top two teams in Philadelphia Public - AA will face off this week when first place Imhotep Charter takes on second place Prep Charter. Imhotep Charter bested Lorrel McCook's team last week, while Prep Charter defeated Communications Tech.

There should be lots of points scored when the Panthers and Prep Charter face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Imhotep Charter comes in having scored 318 this season, while Prep Charter has scored 230. The Panthers scored 47 points last week as they topped the Jaguars.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Imhotep Charter takes on Prep Charter. The Panthers have allowed 35 points this season, while Prep Charter has given up 98. Imhotep Charter allowed 12 points last week as it defeated University City.

The Panthers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on the Jaguars. Young ran for 65 yards in the win.
