The Richmond Christian Warriors will square off against the Grace Christian School Kings at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Richmond Christian's victory against The Carmel School wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 7-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kelsey Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zack Guillory, who went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Parker Grubb, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grace Christian School). They put the hurt on Grove Christian School with a sharp 19-2 win on Tuesday. The Kings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.
Like Richmond Christian, Grace Christian School also got a great game from a two-way player: Isiah Ignace. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ignace was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Grant Boucher was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Grace Christian School: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. James O'Dell was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Grace Christian School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive games.
Grace Christian School has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Richmond Christian, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Richmond Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Grace Christian School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
