Baseball Recap: Fall River Has No Trouble Against Burney

Fall River won the last time they faced Burney and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 12-1 win. 12 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Hunter Bruning was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Smith, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Fall River has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs this season. As for Burney, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Fall River will host Plumas Charter at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Burney, they will venture away from home to face off against Tulelake at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
