Pleasant Grove came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 44-22 to the Lincoln Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 43-28 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Pleasant Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was D.J. Oropeza, who rushed for 127 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Hekili Hernandez also helped out as he racked up 105 rushing yards.

Julian Perez produced another solid performance throwing for 374 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 50 yards and one TD for Lincoln. The dominant performance also gave Perez a new career-high in passer rating (160.3). A healthy portion of Perez's aerial production (99 yards to be exact) went to Trey Jackson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pleasant Grove fell to 3-1. As for Lincoln, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Pleasant Grove will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sheldon at 7:15 p.m. The Eagles will be up against the Huskies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lincoln, they will venture away from home to take on Manteca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
