Ryan Youngblood leads a balanced attack to beat Dayton

Recap: Spring Creek Spartans vs. Dayton Dust Devils

The Spring Creek Spartans can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-26 victory over Dayton. The victory was just what Spring Creek needed coming off of a 49-24 defeat in their prior game.

Spring Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Youngblood, who scored 16 points along with nine steals. That's the first time this season that Youngblood scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Dimick, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.

Spring Creek's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Dayton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Spring Creek will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Fernley at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Fernley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Dayton, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lowry at 6:00 p.m. Lowry presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dayton in Nevada (Lowry is ranked eighth, while Dayton is ranked 54th).
