Softball Recap: St. David Extends Winning Streak to 13

St. David extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Ash Fork/Seligman. They blew past the Spartans 12-1. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Emelynn Jacquez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Katelyn Patton was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

St. David always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

The victory was the 13th in a row for St. David, bringing their record up to 20-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Ash Fork/Seligman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

St. David will be playing at home against Williams at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Tigers have won nine straight at home, while the Vikings won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Ash Fork/Seligman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
