Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson vs. Seguin

The Jefferson Mustangs will head out to take on the Seguin Matadors at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Jefferson put up the most goals they have all season on Friday. They never let Lanier get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. It was an even better day for Anna Casanova as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Seguin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Voks 5-1. Seguin might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by four goals or more this season.

The victory got Seguin back to even at 4-4. As for Jefferson, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-2.

Jefferson beat Seguin 2-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Matadors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
