Basketball Recap: Lake Cormorant Comes Up Short

Lake Cormorant lost against Center Hill back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Lake Cormorant were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Center Hill Mustangs. Lake Cormorant has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Center Hill was led to victory by Kennedy Hulbert and Madison S. Hughes. Hulbert went 9 for 12 on her way to 23 points in addition to six assists and four steals, while S. Hughes dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Those 23 points gave Hulbert a new career-high.

Lake Cormorant's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Center Hill, they moved to 6-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Lake Cormorant will venture away from home to face off against Southaven at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Center Hill, they will welcome Saltillo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Hill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
