Volleyball Game Preview: Northwest Mohawks vs. South Gallia Rebels

Northwest is a perfect 3-0 against South Gallia since September of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mohawks are taking a road trip to take on the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Northwest didn't have quite enough to beat Western and fell 3-2.

Northwest wouldn't go down easily and took Western into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-18, 25-27, 24-26, 18-16.

Meanwhile, South Gallia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Federal Hocking.

South Gallia was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 25-15.

South Gallia's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Northwest, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Northwest skirted past South Gallia 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mohawks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
