Basketball Recap: Colquitt County Packers vs. Valdosta Wildcats
The Colquitt County Packers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Valdosta on the road to the tune of 79-48. Colquitt County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 25 points or more this season.
Colquitt County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amira Walters- Smith out in front who scored 27 points. Walters- Smith hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. Jamya Moore was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with two steals.
Colquitt County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Valdosta, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-10.
Colquitt County will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lowndes comes in on six and the Packers on three. As for Valdosta, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Camden County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in Georgia (the Wildcats are ranked 27th, while the Wildcats are ranked 88th).
