Softball Recap: Lake Zurich Bears vs. Waukegan Bulldogs
While Lake Zurich put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Waukegan. The Lake Zurich Bears blew past the Waukegan Bulldogs 14-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Lake Zurich considering their one-run performance the match before.
Claire Kohlman was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jenna Lewis, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.
Lake Zurich's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Waukegan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Zurich's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Vernon Hills at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Waukegan will take on Round Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
