Baseball Recap: Letchworth Legends vs. Perry Yellowjackets
Letchworth put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 13-7 margin over the Perry Yellowjackets. The win was nothing new for Letchworth as they're now sitting on three straight.
Noah Almeter and Jake Stowell did most of the damage at the plate: Almeter went 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, while Stowell scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. Stowell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Miller, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Letchworth now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Perry, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Letchworth will head out on the road to square off against Avon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Letchworth's favor is that they have posted big run totals in their last three contests. As for Perry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pembroke at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Perry will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
