Softball Game Preview: Alexandria Valley Cubs vs. Faith Academy Rams

The Alexandria Valley Cubs will square off against the Faith Academy Rams at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Alexandria is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Alexandria is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Pell City, who was ranked 21st at the time (Alexandria was ranked 15th). The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 5-5 tie on Friday. The Valley Cubs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Faith Academy played to a draw too, finishing 5-5 against Pell City.

With that draw, Faith Academy's record moves to 13-12-1. As for Alexandria, they moved theirs to 31-8-3.

Alexandria couldn't quite finish off Faith Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2021 and fell 3-1. Can the Valley Cubs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
