Baseball Recap: Fayette Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

It was a good run, but Fayette Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels by a score of 5-4. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 6-4 to the Rebels when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hayden Fly put in work no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Fly wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Harris Armour, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Parker Moss also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, Fayette Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton-Rosemark Academy struck out 12 times.

Fayette Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

While Fayette Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
