Baseball Game Preview: Hilbert Wolves vs. Mishicot Indians

Hilbert is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Mishicot Indians at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hilbert came up short against Valders on Monday, falling 8-2. The game marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mishicot fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Freedom on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 18-7 to the Irish. The Indians have struggled against the Irish recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Nolan Sand was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Sand was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Seth Rauber was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

Hilbert dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mishicot, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hilbert has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mishicot struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
