It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Emery ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Manti Templars 17-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since May 10, 2025.

Emery let Hadley Grimm and Elly Stilson run wild. Grimm went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Stilson went 3-for-6 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Stilson has posted since back in March of 2025. Bailey Luke also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Emery kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Emery and bumps their season record up to 4-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Manti, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Emery will head out to take on North Sanpete at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Manti, they are taking a road trip to square off against Juab at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Templars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wasps have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
