Basketball Recap: Unity Reed Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Unity Reed had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 58-51 victory over the Park View Patriots on Wednesday. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 73-64 win the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Unity Reed's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charles Pargo, who went 11 for 19 on his way to 30 points. Ralph Oshokoya was another key player, putting up eight points along with 23 boards and five assists.

Noah Calalang and Josh Monnity certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Calalang posted 21 points, while Monnity put up 15 points. That was a full 41.2% of Park View's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Yester, who posted six points.

Unity Reed's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Park View, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Unity Reed will head out on the road to take on Rock Ridge at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Unity Reed is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season. As for Park View, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 91-48 defeat against Meridian on the 12th.
