Charlottesville faced Monticello in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Black Knights' defense stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 1-0 shutout. The result kept Charlottesville happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Gilbert Kashindi, who's now up to six this season.

Charlottesville's victory bumped their record up to 9-0-1. As for Monticello, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlottesville will head out to challenge Fluvanna County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fluvanna County will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Charlottesville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Monticello, they will head out on the road to face off against Goochland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
