Football Recap: Dixie Takes a Loss

Dixie was the 41-35 winner over Hurricane when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Flyers were beaten by the Tigers 49-2 on Friday. The match marked the Flyers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Deacon Virgin threw for 237 yards on 21 of 36 attempts. Tano Anzalone was his top target, picking up 90 receiving yards. On the ground, Jayson Malufau rushed for 36 yards.

Dixie has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Hurricane, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixie will head out to challenge Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Flyers will be up against the Thunder's rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.33 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hurricane, they are taking a road trip to square off against Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 38.3 points per game this season.
