Baseball Recap: Freedom Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hibriten on Monday, Freedom came back down to earth. The Patriots fell just short of the South Caldwell Spartans by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Patriots have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Freedom has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for South Caldwell, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-1.

Freedom does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Caldwell, they will square off against Watauga at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
