Baseball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert suffered their closest loss since March 3rd on Thursday. They fell just short of the Queen Creek Bulldogs by a score of 8-6. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 10-8.

Gilbert got a big performance out of Hayden Leach, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brady Carlin, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Gilbert has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Queen Creek, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gilbert will square off against rival Higley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Queen Creek is set to challenge their familiar foe Williams Field at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
