Preview: St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots vs. Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions

The St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions at 11:30 a.m. on February 9th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, St. Louis HomeSchool P came up short against St. Pius X and fell 69-61. St. Louis HomeSchool P has struggled against St. Pius X recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

St. Louis HomeSchool P might have lost, but man, Tremayne Jackson was a machine: he scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Isaac Keys was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Kansas City East Christian Academy can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They blew past Northland Christian, posting a 90-57 win on the road. Given Kansas City East Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Northland Christian is ranked 440th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kansas City East Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jared Devine out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Devine hasn't dropped below 18 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Carrillo, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

St. Louis HomeSchool P's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. St. Louis HomeSchool P hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.2 points per game. However, it's not like Kansas City East Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 70.9 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

St. Louis HomeSchool P suffered a grim 65-42 defeat to Kansas City East Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2018. Can St. Louis HomeSchool P avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
