Baseball Recap: Edgewater Takes a Loss

Edgewater was the 9-6 winner over Ocoee when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Knights by a score of 9-8 on Tuesday. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 4-0 in the first period.

Gary (Blake) Alderman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Nicholas Collins was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Edgewater's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Ocoee, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgewater will square off against Jones at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ocoee, they will challenge Wekiva at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
