Softball Recap: New Braunfels Thunder Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for New Braunfels Thunder, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 19-9 margin over the Lutheran Mustangs on Tuesday. The Homeschool might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

New Braunfels Thunder pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.4 runs over those games. As for Lutheran, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Braunfels Thunder will venture away from home to face off against BVCHEA HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. BVCHEA HomeSchool has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.79 runs per game on average), something New Braunfels Thunder will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lutheran, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Paul at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
