The run of dominance for No. 3 Montverde Academy (Fla.) at Dick's Sporting Goods High School Nationals is over.

Entering Friday's semifinals in New York City, the Eagles had returned to Florida with the championship trophy each of the past three years and won 10 games in a row. Montverde Academy has appeared in the final of the event five of the past six years.

But No. 10 La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.) – fresh off a minor upset of St. Benedict's Prep in the quarterfinals – sent Montverde Academy home empty-handed this season with a 55-47 semifinal victory.
