Softball Game Preview: Tenino Beavers vs. King's Way Christian Knights

Tenino is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and King's Way Christian a seven-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Tenino Beavers will look to defend their home field against the King's Way Christian Knights at 4:00 p.m. Tenino has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tenino came up short against Hoquiam on Thursday, falling 12-1.

Tenino saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaeleen Woodward, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Fort Vancouver hit King's Way Christian with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights fell just short of the Trappers by a score of 5-4.

Soph Brewer put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lauren Lewis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Grace Wickum was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

King's Way Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Tenino, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.

Tenino skirted past King's Way Christian 7-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Beavers repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
