Game recap: Lafayette High School Football Team defeats Greenwood

OXFORD, Miss. - Greenwood (Miss.) lost to Lafayette (Oxford, Miss.), 24-7.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by DK Buford to Brandon Mack in the second quarter, the Commodores led 7-0 at the half.

Lafayette expanded its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Joshua Barry touchdown run.

Deangelo Crosby played well for the Bulldogs. The freshman wide receiver kicked one extra point.

Mack stood out for the Oxford school in the win. The senior ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 19 touchdowns on the season.

Greenwood's lone touchdown came on an 80-yard kick return by Booker T. Chambers in the third quarter.



The Commodores had given up an average of 8.1 points prior to the contest. GHS's seven points were well below its season average of 26.1 per game.

Lafayette also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-0.

With the win LHS extended its winning streak to three games.
