Recap: Catoctin Cougars vs. South Carroll Cavaliers
The Catoctin Cougars extended their postseason success on Wednesday against the South Carroll Cavaliers. They walked away with a 48-38 win over the Cavaliers. The win was familiar territory for Catoctin who now have five in a row.
Taylor Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with four steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Williams, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, South Carroll saw an underclassman step up: Harley Mckee scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Leah Miller, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Catoctin is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. As for South Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.
Catoctin will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Surrattsville on March 9th. Hopefully Catoctin is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Maryland (they are ranked 31st, while Surrattsville is ranked 118th).
