Baseball Recap: Taft School's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Taft School unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 9-4 to the Trinity-Pawling School Pride. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pride this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on April 7th.

Taft School got a good showing from Uli Linn, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Linn has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cooper Tantraporn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Those doubles were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Owen Palmer, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Taft School's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Trinity-Pawling School, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Taft School will head out on the road to face off against Choate Rosemary Hall School at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wild Boars will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Big Red surely won't give up without a fight. As for Trinity-Pawling School, they will welcome Kingswood Oxford at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pride's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wyverns have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
