Softball Game Preview: Maspeth Argos vs. Sinatra

The Maspeth Argos will face off against Sinatra at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Maspeth and Long Island City meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Argos came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 23-8.

Meanwhile, Sinatra lost 20-9 to Academy of American Studies on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for Sinatra in their meetings with Academy of American Studies: they've now lost three in a row.

Sinatra's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Maspeth, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Maspeth took their victory against Sinatra in their previous meeting back in May of 2017 by a conclusive 18-1 score. Will the Argos repeat their success, or do Sinatra have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
