McBain had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-7 to make it eight. They came up short against the Beal City Aggies, falling 18-0. The shutout was out of character for the Ramblers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.
As for Beal City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. Considering they have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Beal City's part, Emma Block made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Block has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Macy Johnston was a standout: she fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madason Fisher, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
