Football Recap: Laurel Takes a Loss

Laurel scored first but ultimately less than Gulfport in their game on Friday. They fell just short of the Admirals by a score of 17-14. The Golden Tornadoes were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Cooper Crosby was a one-man wrecking crew For Gulfport. as he rushed for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. That's the most rushing yards Crosby has posted since back in September of 2024.

Laurel is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Gulfport, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Laurel has already played their next contest, a 53-20 defeat against West Harrison on the 19th. As for Gulfport, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 25-24 loss against Petal on the 19th.
