Baseball Game Preview: Walnut Mustangs vs. Diamond Bar Brahmas

For the second straight game, Walnut will face off against Diamond Bar. The Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Brahmas at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Walnut has three straight wins, Diamond Bar has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Walnut's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Diamond Bar, sneaking past 2-0. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly two runs.

For Diamond Bar's part, Stetson Sherman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits Sherman has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, Diamond Bar saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Torres, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Diamond Bar's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Walnut, the victory got them back to even at 13-13-1.
