Baseball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 14-3 to the Greenbrier Wolfpack. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolfpack this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-7 on Tuesday.

Jude Matthews was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Grizzle, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Greenbrier, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

While Lakeside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
