Baseball Recap: Tates Creek Takes a Loss

Tates Creek suffered their closest loss since April 2nd on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Lafayette Generals by a score of 6-4. The Commodores were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Generals earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Tates Creek got a good showing from Garrett Biroschik, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Biroschik has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tates Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Ramos, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Tates Creek dropped their record down to 10-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lafayette, their record is now 21-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tates Creek will welcome Greenup County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lafayette, they will host Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
