Basketball Recap: Beatrice Comes Up Short

Beatrice was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Platteview Trojans, falling 66-44. The Orangemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-13.

Platteview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Steele, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Steele a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Trofholz, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

Beatrice's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Platteview, their record now sits at 12-5.

Beatrice will square off against Norris at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Platteview, they will take on Ashland-Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
