Volleyball Recap: Saratoga Panthers vs. Southeast Cyclones

Saratoga lost against Southeast back in September, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saratoga Panthers fell just short of the Southeast Cyclones by a score of 3-2. The Panthers have struggled against the Cyclones recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Saratoga took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 26-28, 25-13, 15-7.

Even though they lost, Saratoga kept the net locked down and finished the game with 13 blocks. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now had at least ten blocks in three consecutive contests.

Saratoga's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-3. As for Southeast, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.

Saratoga wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Cokeville on the 19th. After both having extra time off, Southeast and Lingle-Fort Laramie will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Lingle-Fort Laramie has won three straight at home, while Southeast won 11 straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
