Softball Recap: San Lorenzo Valley Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

San Lorenzo Valley dropped their record down to 11-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell 5-2 to the Scotts Valley Falcons. Surprisingly, this marked the Cougars' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Scotts Valley, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

For Scotts Valley's part, Sofie Seese spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. Seese has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jazzy Doubek was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

San Lorenzo Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-1 victory against Santa Cruz on the 13th. As for Scotts Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-3 win against Soquel on the 13th.
