Baseball Recap: Staunton Comes Up Short

Staunton managed to slip by Fort Defiance the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Storm lost 13-0 to the Indians on Tuesday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Storm were not able to get on the board.

Staunton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaiden Johnson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. That hit was Johnson's first of the season.

Staunton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Fort Defiance, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Staunton is set to challenge their familiar foe Stuarts Draft at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fort Defiance will take on rival Buffalo Gap at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
