Two dominant backs in Ryan Estrada and Jayshon Gibson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The El Dorado Aztecs will square off against the Richland Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Dorado is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

El Dorado is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 77-76 photo finish over Amarillo. Given the Aztecs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Sandies are ranked 237th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

El Dorado didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Evan Corral and Andrew Estrada. Estrada is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made nine or more in each of the last ten games he's played. He was instrumental in Richland's win, throwing for 327 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punching in a pair of scores on the ground. Those 327 passing yards gave Kates a new career-high. Benjamin Sanders also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

El Dorado's record now sits at 10-1. As for Richland, their record is now 8-3.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. El Dorado has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 350.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Richland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 256.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
