After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Charleston, Lamar was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Clinton Yellowjackets 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since March 7th.

Zaxton Aldridge made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Aldridge wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Logan Leeds, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs Leeds has posted since back in March. Another was Peyton Humphrey, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Clinton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will welcome Cossatot River at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Clinton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morrilton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
