Football Recap: Seminole Indians vs. Fort Stockton Panthers
Seminole put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by the Fort Stockton Panthers on the road to the tune of 62-17. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by 32 points or more this season.
Wyatt Holmstrom was his usual excellent self, throwing for 319 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 51 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. His passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 319 passing yards dating back to last season. Seminole also got help from Logan Mccormick, who showed off his sure hands for 139 receiving yards.
Seminole wouldn't let Fort Stockton keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Caden Hice, Hiram Gaytan, Ryan Sinclair, and Braden Bailey picked up one apiece.
Despite the loss, Fort Stockton still got an impressive performance from Rylan Nunez, who picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown. Nunez's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Seminole's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Fort Stockton, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Snyder the next time they take the field. Fort Stockton will head out to face Snyder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Seminole will host them at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
