Baseball Recap: Tatum Comes Up Short

If Tatum was feeling good fresh off their 21-1 takedown of Sabine on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tatum fell just short of New Diana by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for Tatum in their meetings with New Diana: they've now lost five in a row.

Logan Cansler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Tatum saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxen Prince, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Prince a new career-high in doubles.

Tatum suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-4. As for New Diana, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Coincidentally, Tatum and New Diana will both be playing Marshall the next time they take the field. Tatum will host Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while New Diana will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
