Volleyball Recap: East Hampton Bellringers vs. Mercy Tigers

If East Hampton was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Portland last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The East Hampton Bellringers fell 3-1 to the Mercy Tigers on Friday. The Bellringers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 12-25, 25-22.

Even though they lost, East Hampton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in four consecutive contests.

Mercy was led to victory by Grace Kearns and Kacy Dickson. Kearns had 14 digs and two blocks, while Dickson had 18 digs. Kearns has been hot recently, having also posted 14 or more assists the last five times she's played.

East Hampton has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
