New Trier waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Niles West Wolves. That's more bragging rights for the Trevians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Ben Toft, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Mason Bloom, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

New Trier pushed their record up to 18-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Niles West, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Looking ahead, New Trier will be playing at home against Maine South at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Trevians are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Niles West, they will venture away from home to square off against Maine East at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
