Softball Game Preview: Poth Pirates vs. Cotulla Cowboys

For the second straight game, Poth will face off against Cotulla. The Pirates will take on the Cowboys on Saturday. Poth will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Poth is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Cotulla 23-5. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 21 games by six runs or more this season.

Reese Urbanczyk made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Urbanczyk was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ava Kroll was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, five stolen bases, and five runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Bella Serna was another key player, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Cotulla's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Poth, their victory bumped their record up to 27-6.
