Preview: Appleton East Patriots vs. Hortonville Polar Bears
Appleton East and Hortonville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Appleton East Patriots' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hortonville Polar Bears at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd.
Last Friday, Appleton East came up short against Neenah and fell 63-53.
Hortonville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 24 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Fort Atkinson on Monday as Hortonville made off with a 66-42 victory.
Riley Mueller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Joling, who scored 12 points.
Appleton East's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hortonville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Appleton East skirted past Hortonville 71-69 in their previous matchup back in February. Will Appleton East repeat their success, or does Hortonville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
