Volleyball Recap: Reedy Falls Despite Big Games from Rowan Dixon and Nia Lamons

Reedy lost against Independence back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lions fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. Lions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Knights since Tuesday.

Reedy took Independence into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 24-26, 19-25, 15-13.

Despite the defeat, Reedy had strong showings from Nia Lamons, who had 21 digs and three assists, and Rowan Dixon, who had ten digs and three aces. Lamons is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Reedy's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Independence, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reedy will take on Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Independence, they will head out to challenge Wills Point on Saturday.
