Baseball Game Preview: Harvest Christian Academy Saints vs. St. Paul's Prep Lions

The Harvest Christian Academy Saints will face off against the St. Paul's Prep Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Paul's Prep will be up against a hot Harvest Christian Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to seven. Everything went Harvest Christian Academy's way against Trinity Christian Academy on Tuesday as Harvest Christian Academy made off with a 24-7 victory.

Elijah Cleary and Judah Mann were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Cleary tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Mann pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cleary has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Cleary scored five runs while going 4-for-5, while Mann scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Mann a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Harvest Christian Academy let Elijah Mann and Brody Ticknor run wild. Mann got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Ticknor scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Those four RBI gave Mann a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Ellison, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.

Harvest Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Paul's Prep). They put the hurt on Dallas Academy with a sharp 22-3 win on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.

St. Paul's Prep's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Harvest Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Harvest Christian Academy took their victory against St. Paul's Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-5. Does Harvest Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Paul's Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
