Baseball Game Preview: Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes vs. Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions

The Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes will head out on the road to square off against the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Zeigler-Royalton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Elverado on Monday. The Tornadoes were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Falcons. Winning may never get old, but the Tornadoes sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Chase Freeman was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Kaiden Niblett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Christ Our Rock Lutheran never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Silver Stallions haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Christ Our Rock Lutheran pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Zeigler-Royalton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.

Zeigler-Royalton couldn't quite get it done against Christ Our Rock Lutheran in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can the Tornadoes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
